Job Overview: A leading Information Management Service Company is seeking an Application Support Specialist to work at their Oil Company client site in Edinburgh to provide application support to the geoscience community. Applicants are invited with experience in using or supporting Geoframe, Petrel or/and Petrosys.

Working alongside the Company’s on-site support team, you will provide advice and guidance in the operational use of geocience applications to ensure that activities undertaken are completed according to existing service delivery processes and quality criteria defined by the client. In addition, you will undertake some data loading and help in the management of geoscience applications.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the On-Site Team Lead, you will undertake the following tasks:
· Provide support and user assistance to the team on site at the Oil Company Client.
This role offers great variety of tasks and scope to develop you technical application skills. Ideal for a candidate who can work in a team and independently, and who has some experience in using or supporting geoscience applications. Package: A salary range of circa £33K-£45K (GBP) plus a performance and company based bonus, private health care, a flexible benefits package on offer. 25 days holiday on offer dependent on skills and experience.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have:
· A degree in geology or related earth sciences preferred.
· Some experience in using or supporting geoscience applications essential.
· Minimum of 2 years industry experience essential.
· Experience in the use of Geoframe, Petrel and Petrosys highly advantageous.
· A good understanding of Geoscience data types essential.
· Understanding and knowledge of geotechnical data standards and workflows preferred.
· Experience in loading seismic and well data to E & P applications highly advantageous.
· Experience of building velocity models and depth conversions would be highly advantageous.
· Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written and oral) with the ability to listen accurately and articulate clearly to convey effective and accurate support to the Client – essential.
· Strong desire to advance your technical knowledge of leading edge products.
· Confident and self-reliant – the ability to resolve technical queries effectively.
· Efficient time management, highly organised with excellent co‑ordination skills essential
· Self-motivated, able to act independently with minimum supervision while remaining a strong team player.
