This new opportunity is part of the Resource Development, Resource Geology team which is accountable for ore body knowledge to enable mining and will report directly to the Manager, Resource Geology Evaluation.
In this critical role you will be accountable for the implementation of the hydrogeological drilling, test pumping and water bore monitoring in support of hydrogeological drilling investigations, and mine dewatering for our Expansion Project Studies. The role also oversees an annual budget. 
You will be responsible for the leadership, technical direction, contracts management and supervision of high risk field drilling and construction activities in large diameter, high yield water bore drilling. 

Job Requirements

  • Leading the implementation of water well drilling across greenfields, brownfields and mine expansions for both sustaining and expansion projects.
  • Managing and developing the field drilling supervisory team.
  • Planning, leading and managing the procurement of water well drilling contracts and ensuring they meet internal and external government regulatory standards, and that service providers are effectively meeting our business requirements.
  • Developing health and safety and technical drilling standards and systems.
Fundamental to the success of this role will be the effective delivery of hydro geological drilling and testing programs to the highest standards of safety across multiple sites and business units. You will have previous leadership experience gained in a large organisation with a demonstrated ability to deal with a large number and variety of stakeholders. Your background in Contracts, Project Management and knowledge in water well drilling systems and water well design will be a pre-requisite for this role as will your knowledge of legislation and regulations for water bore construction in Australia. A Tertiary qualification or background in hydrogeology/ Geology or Drilling will be highly regarded.
