Job Overview: A leading provider of geophysical products and services are seeking a Quantitative Interpretation Team Leader to lead and manage a small team of Geoscientists to carry out QI projects. Applicants are invited with at least 7 years industry experience with a proven knowledge of geophysical techniques with emphasis on Quantitative Interpretation. Strong inversion skills highly desired.
The Company delivers the latest innovations in quantitative and rock physics enabled interpretation software and services with a fresh and flexible scientific approach to create subsurface value. Their products and services improve prediction, and search and detection methods used in seismic data analysis and their success has resulted in rapid expansion in over recent years with established offices worldwide including London, KL, Houston, Rio- de Janeiro and Perth.
As part of the QI team, you will work on a wide variety of projects covering NW Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, that has a range of geology (clastics, carbonates, igneous/metamorphic), a range of objectives (fluid and lithology modelling and prediction, block evaluation, 4D, VSP, fracture prediction etc) and from brief consultancy to major studies.
With experience in geophysical techniques with emphasis on quantitative interpretation, you will work closely with a wide variety of clients, understanding their needs, tailoring studies to match them and using seismic technologies in conjunction with rock physics studies of well data to assist in the identification, analysis and de-risking of hydrocarbon accumulations.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager of QI Services, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
· Become competent in the use of the Company’s technologies, workflows and practices.
· Lead and project manage a small team of Geoscientists within the QI team, technically and operationally, to carry out specific Geoscience projects.
· Ensure these projects are completed to clients’ requirements, high technical standards and in a timely and profitable manner.
· Build and develop good working relationships with clients , understanding their requirements, constraints, challenges, and timeframes.
· Provide technology and knowledge transfer including training and mentoring to ensure high levels of QC for QI operations.
· Provide high-level technical and commercial support in the generation of tenders and proposals, attending trade shows, consortium meetings or other technical/sales events as required.
· Be proactive in improving service delivery, striving to achieve a high level of satisfaction at all stages of the delivery.
· Be proactive in promoting technically sound QI practices and workflows within your team.
· Interact with the software development team to create new, cutting edge workflows.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
· A Degree in Earth Sciences, Geophysics, Physics or related Discipline essential, MSc or PhD preferred.
· 7 + years oil industry experience preferred.
· Experience in leading, directing and/or mentoring a small team of geoscientists essential.
· Excellent project management skills essential.
· Industry experience in Geophysical Interpretation, Processing, Inversion, Quantitative Interpretation And/Or Rock Physics essential.
· Knowledge in fluid and lithology modelling and prediction, block evaluation, 4D, VSP, fracture prediction advantageous.
· Articulate, with good leadership skills – the ability to translate technical instructions to successful deliverables essential.
· Experienced in using industry applications such as Hampson and Russell, Kingdom, Petrel, VoxelGeo, Geolog, GeoProbe, RokDoc, Chronoseis etc. preferred.
· Motivated and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
· Can work independently and also be an excellent team player, with the ability to work with all levels within the Company to accomplish goals
· Strong communication skills.
· Highly flexible – ability to adapt to new project challenges and work practices.
· Drive and ambition to succeed within a fast growing Company.
· Must be service orientated.
Package: Dependent on skills and experience, a Base Salary of £60K – £75K plus an attractive performance related bonus scheme giving a potential earnings of £80K+ plus Company Benefitsis on offer.
