Job Overview: An established and highly respected Company offering a world-class suite of seismic processing capabilities and exploration service solutions are seeking a Marketing Geophysicist to promote the Company’s solutions and to build and maintain good client relationships. Applicants are invited with a background in geophysical processing and/or acquisition, excellent communication skills and the ambition to progress their career in a marketing role.
 
The Company is part of a large global geophysical group, offering a broad range of specialized geophysical services to the petroleum industry, worldwide. Its services include land, shallow water OBC (ocean bottom cable) and TZ (transition zone) seismic data acquisition and advanced seismic processing and interpretation services. Increased demand for the company’s services has led to a need to expand their UK based marine time and depth processing services.
 
The Company is renowned for its pioneering work in 3D AVO, rock properties studies and seismic imaging all of which are backed by an active Research and Development group supporting and augmenting the Company’s proprietary software packages. 
 
With a good understanding of geophysics and a flair for communicating value-add to clients, and your primary responsibilities will be to promote new opportunities and maintain good client relationships through client visits, presentations of Company experience and technical capabilities and through interaction with new and existing clients at industry events.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Processing Manager, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
·      Become competent in the use of the Company’s technologies, workflows and practices.
·      Identifying current and potential clients – building relationship of trust and maintaining regular contact. Understand how the Company becomes a “preferred supplier” (i.e. will be invited to tender), complete the required pre-qualification process whilst maintaining contact through-out.
·      Preparation and timely submission of tenders – these will be quality controlled by technical personnel and signed off by the Manager. Follow up with the client and provide status feedback internally.
·      Interaction with Management, Research and Geophysicist teams – understanding current and future solution offerings, market trends, competitors, differentiators…
·      Monitoring industry opportunities, competitors’ activities and market conditions.
·      Keeping abreast of hydrocarbon licensing rounds and proactively marketing the Company’s solutions to potential applicants or interested parties of these rounds.
·      Presentation of services and company skills and experience to potential clients.
·      Be proactive in raising the reputation and awareness of the Company.
·      Research and analyse marketing events and conferences – where attending coordinate all event activities.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have:
·      A Degree in a related Earth Science, Science or Mathematics based subject essential. Geophysics highly desirable.
·      A strong understanding or geophysics – either in processing, acquisition or/and interpretation essential. This could be academically or from industry experience.
·      A dynamic motivated individual with excellent communications skills and an outgoing personality essential.
·      Experience in marketing of scientific data, products or/and services advantageous.
·      Experience in pre/post or technical sales highly advantageous.
·      Can work independently and also be an excellent team player, with the ability to work with all levels within the Company to accomplish goals.
·      Excellent coordination skills – ability to multitask and undertake various marketing activities simultaneously and internationally.
·      A strong understanding/appreciation of the importance and resulting value of continually raising the perception of a company through effective marketing activities essential.
·      Creative and passionate – desire to exceed expectations.
·      Excellent communication and presentation skills essential – the ability to liaise with clients, third parties effectively, the ability to articulate technical value-add and content to clients, comfortable presenting proposed marketing activities.
·      Highly flexible – ability to adapt to new project challenges and work practices.
·      Drive and ambition to succeed within a fast growing Company
·      Assertive – able to achieve goals in a pleasant and effective manner. Can get the job done and is not dependent on a significant support structure to facilitate the role.
·      Ambitious with high energy levels, drive and enthusiasm.
·      Potential international travel – must be able to travel.
·      Ability to travel internationally as required.
 
Package:                     An attractive Salary of between £35K - £40K is on offer dependent on skills and experience plus Company benefits.
