Geoservices is a leading international oil and gas service company, providing a broad range of services in the exploration and production industry including Mud Logging (world leader), Well Intervention (Slickline) and Field Surveillance.
Who are we looking for?
Candidates should have a background in geology, earth sciences or applied engineering. We require mature, practical, serious-minded people who are able to work on their own initiative with minimal supervision. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English and must be prepared to travel on short notice.
We don’t expect you to have skills specific to that position or professional experience. Geoservices invest greatly in their staff, we will provide our employees with superb specialist training.
What will you be doing?
Our Mud Logging Geologists are part of a team that operates from a sophisticated, self-contained laboratory located at the rig site. They assist other well site personnel and the drilling operation by examining cuttings samples, identifying oil and gas shows, maintaining a well database of geological, drilling and mud parameters, providing primary well control surveillance, evaluating borehole hydraulics, and a range of other services.
Successful candidates will work on a rotation basis spending approx. 4 weeks at a time on drilling locations with time off between assignments. Opportunities exist both onshore and offshore - locations may include Europe and the North Sea, West Africa or the Asia/Pacific region. Personnel hired will be paid at industry-competitive rates with a benefits package.
