Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer/Operations Manager, your key accountabilities are:
· Bringing conceptual ideas and prototypes to commercial production
· Understanding the use that the acquired data will be put to, and suitably defining acquisition parameters to optimize data quality
· Managing sub-contractors to ensure that work is carried out to the highest quality, based on established industry conventions and guidelines
· Producing regular budget forecasts and budget performance reports
· Identifying current deployment and quality issues
· Providing and implementing best practice solutions to deployment and quality problems
· Effective project management to ensure delivery on time, to budget and meeting recognized industry quality standards
· Identifying and interpreting reliability and quality issues
· Developing and implementing best-practice solutions to quality/reliability problems
Preferences: The successful candidate will have or be:
· Must have knowledge and experience (minimum 5 years) in ultra low noise acquisition systems, including pre-amplifiers, and specifically analogue to digital converters and logging systems.
· Must have knowledge and experience (minimum 5 years) of working with high power low frequency electromagnetic transmitters and remote control systems.
· Excellent problem solving skills.
· Good communication and people skills.
· Ability to operate commercially; good business acumen.
· Good sub-contractor management.
· Fully conversant with industrial electronic design, test and production conventions and processes.
· Relevant electronics engineering degree-qualified highly desired.
· Geophysics exposure would be useful but not essential
· Subsea engineering experience with ROV’s or sea bottom nodes would be a real advantage
